Publication Frequency

JESS (Journal of Education on Social Science) is a peer-reviewed, open-access scholarly journal published by the Faculty of Social Science, Universitas Negeri Padang, Indonesia. The journal maintains a regular publication schedule to support the timely dissemination of scholarly research, promote academic communication, and ensure transparency regarding its publication frequency.

1. Regular Publication Frequency

JESS is published three times a year, with regular issues scheduled for April, August, and December. This publication frequency has been adopted since 2023 as part of the journal's commitment to improving the continuity and dissemination of scholarly publications.

2. Annual Publication Schedule

The regular publication calendar of JESS is organized according to the following annual schedule:

Submission of a manuscript does not guarantee publication in a particular issue. Assignment to an issue depends on the completion of the required editorial procedures, manuscript readiness, and the journal's publication arrangements.

Authors should follow the official Author Guidelines and relevant publication policies before submitting their manuscripts. Information concerning any submission deadlines or special calls for papers, when applicable, should be obtained from official journal announcements.

4. Publication Quality and Editorial Standards

JESS recognizes that the regularity of publication must be accompanied by appropriate academic quality assurance. Editorial evaluation should prioritize originality, relevance, methodological rigor, ethical compliance, and the scientific contribution of submitted manuscripts.

Publication schedules should not compromise the independence of peer review or the quality of editorial decisions. Manuscripts requiring further revision, additional verification, or clarification should complete the necessary editorial procedures before publication.

JESS was established in 2017. Its publication history reflects the journal's development as an academic outlet for research in education and the social sciences.

Before adopting its three-issue annual schedule in 2023, JESS followed a biannual publication arrangement. The change to three issues per year represents a development in the journal's publication frequency.
